Co Kildare

Direct Utilities are accustomed to high-pressure, high-stakes situations in working with live gas mains and this was particularly in evidence in a recent project in Intel, Co Kildare. Direct Utilities were tasked with laying 1,200 metres of 250mm and 180mm gas main from an existing gas skid on the old site to a new FAB. As it is a working site, it was extremely important that the site could remain using gas even when we were connecting to the skid.

WuXi Biologics

Dundalk

Direct Utilities was recommended to WuXi Biologics by Gas Networks Ireland. WuXi required a specialist contractor, experienced in all aspects of natural gas, to connect a new boiler room from a new gas skid on a live working site.

WuXi Biologics contracted Direct Utilities to lay, test and commission the 150 metres of 250mm PE gas main from the new Gas Networks Ireland gas skid to a new boiler room.

Murphy Environmental

Loughshinny

Direct Utilities were tasked with an above ground Gas Installation project (AGI) recently with Murphy Environmental Loughshinny.

Murphy’s were constructing two new heat exchangers and commissioned Direct Utilities to lay, connect and test approximately 80m of 250mm pre-insulated water pipework.

“It was a complex project,” explains Darren Gorman, Director of Direct Utilities. “Everything had to be welded in position at exact levels in a very tight site. It was a live gas station so everything had to be planned safely. Because of our training and experience we are comfortable carrying out this work.”
